Friday Night Funk: Avicii – Levels (2011)

This week’s Friday Night Funk pre-release is Swedish electronic dance musician Tim Bergling, better known by stage name Avicii. Avicii has had a number of charting singles, but this entry could be none other than his mainstream breakthrough single Levels, which tore up the charts in the 2011 and was so catchy that Flo Rida virtually tripped over himself on the way to the studio to sample it for his own single Good Feeling. Levels itself featured the distinctive vocal sample from the 1962 gospel-inspired song Something’s Got a Hold of Me by Etta James.

And I always have a soft spot for contagious dancing in music videos, particularly in an office. Hmmm – I wonder if I could try this at work…?
