(10) MARGARET ATWOOD –
THE PENELOPIAD (2005)
It’s only fair that we get Penelope’s tale of the twenty years of Odysseus’ absence (and more).
Margaret Atwood not only gives us this tale, narrated from the underworld after her death, but also gives voice to the maids hanged by Odysseus almost as a footnote to the original epic – or should I say, a Greek chorus?
